1920s Solid brick Hawthorn home gets a facelift and spacious extension
The Client’s prospectus asked for the restoration of their solid brick home with works including the replacement of damaged ceilings. It was important that the new ceilings match the existing including plaster strapping features. Three of the existing rooms were renovated to create a large master bedroom, dressing room and Ensuite with floor to ceiling marble.
Spotted gum vertical cladding was used on the ground & 1st floor extension producing a contemporary finish which compliments the landscaped rear garden & pool area.
The ground floor extension includes the kitchen with its blend of stainless steel & stone benches & walk in pantry. An open plan meals/living includes a study hidden behind beautiful built in TV/book case cabinetry.
Through the use of large sliding/stacker door units these areas open onto an alfresco outdoor area with spotted gum decking, built in BBQ cabinetry, stainless steel bench and splashback .
The 1st floor extension includes two bedrooms, bathroom, powder room and lounge. Double glass doors open onto a private balcony giving a light, airy feel to the entire floor.
